The Sani-Bag+ significantly reduces the potential for transmission of harmful bacteria and spores from human waste to caregivers and patients. Results from an independent laboratory study found that the Sani-Bag+ demonstrates ≥99.99% microbial barrier performance and is an effective microbial barrier.

The study evaluated the barrier efficacy of Sani-Bag+ commode liners against microorganisms. The organisms tested include Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Clostridium difficile. No organism transfer occurred from the contaminated liner onto the bedpan or from a contaminated bedpan onto the liner. Therefore, the Sani-Bag+ effectively contains waste and organisms.

Emptying and cleaning a commode or bedpan has significant potential to transmit infections. The biodegradable Sani-Bag+ commode and bedpan liner contains a waste treatment powder that gels and treats up to 32 ounces of waste, preventing backsplash and spillage. The odor neutralizer controls odors and allows for overnight or multiple uses. After use, the top of the bag rolls down and closes with an adhesive seal. The bag disposes in the same manner as an adult diaper.
